Got a business account already, but looking to switch? You can use the Current Account Switch Service to switch an existing business account to Monzo. We’ll move all your money and payments (like Direct Debits and standing orders) and close down your old account for you.
Make sure you’ve got these things to hand
Have proof of your business address, your registered company number or name (if you’re a limited company), unique tax reference number and proof of your Business’s address ready.
If you don’t have a personal account with us you’ll also need some form of ID, like a passport, driving licence, national ID card, or biometric residence permit.
That way, you won’t have to pause mid-application to search for them ✨

If you’re a limited company, check your Companies House data is up to date – you can have a look at the Companies House register to make sure.
And as a limited company, we’ll need to verify any people with significant control in your business.
You'll need to tell us some basic details about them, and submit photos of their photo ID as part of your application. You can check who the people with significant control in your business are at Companies House.

You can apply from your personal account in the Monzo app, if you’ve got one!
Tap on your profile picture on the top left of your screen, scroll all the way down to ‘Do more with Monzo’, then tap ‘Apply for a Business account’
You’ll need the same email address and phone number for all things Monzo
We don't support different emails or phone numbers for your personal and business account, so you’ll need to use the same details. If you started an application and you’re just coming back, you don’t need to start from scratch! Use the same details to pick up where you left off.
If you don’t have a personal account, we won’t take it personally. You can just download the Monzo mobile app from the App Store or Play Store., then open it to start your application.
When you sign up, we’ll ask what kind of account you’d like to apply for – that’s where you choose our Business account.

Next up, we’ll ask some questions about your business
We’ll ask you questions about your business and how you plan to use the account. This will include things like the industry you work in, what your business does, countries you’re doing business with, and how big your business is.
By giving us this information, you’ll help us verify your account as quickly as possible.
You’ll need to choose between our free Lite or Pro account for £5 per month (with your first month free)
Monzo Business Lite (free)
The best of Monzo but for your business, with no monthly fee. A full UK current account including mobile and web access, payment links and easy payments for customers, Pots to separate your money, free instant UK bank transfers, award-winning customer support and more.
Monzo Business Pro (£5 a month)
Your business finances taken care of, for £5 a month. A full UK current account including everything in Business Lite, plus Tax Pots, integrated accounting, invoicing and payment links, easy payments for customers, multi-user access for limited companies, and more.
Once you’re done, we’ll start verifying your information
This should only take a day or two, but if there’s people with significant control other than you in the business who don’t have a personal account with us, it may take longer.
