Differences between Max and the Max family add-on
When you upgrade your Monzo account to Max, you have the option to add family phone, travel and breakdown cover for an extra £5 a month.
What 'family' means for phone insurance By ‘family’, Assurant means your partner living at the same permanent address and dependent children under 20 years old (or aged 21 years old or under if in full time education).
What 'family' means for travel insurance When it comes to your travel insurance, you and the family members you add to the policy are even covered when you're not travelling together.
By ‘family’, Zurich means your spouse or legal partner (including any couple in a common law relationship living permanently at the same address) and financially dependant, unmarried (or not living with their partner) children aged 19 years old or under at the start of a trip (or aged 21 years old or under at the start of a trip if still in full time education).
What 'family' means for breakdown cover You and your family members get what's called 'personal cover' – which means you're all covered as individuals, rather than a certain vehicle being covered. That means that anyone you've added to the policy is covered in any valid vehicle as a driver or passenger.
By 'family', RAC means partners and dependent children aged 19 years old or younger (or 21 years old or younger if in full time education) living at the same permanent address.
Important information Family members must be named on the policy. Exclusions apply.
Max is £17 a month, or £22 a month if you add your family.
Must be 18-69 to apply • 3 months minimum • UK resident • Ts&Cs apply
